David is 67.
He still plays tennis, crushes it on the golf course, rides long miles, hikes, plays music, works on his boat — and has energy left over for two young granddaughters. None of that is luck. It's what steady, well-balanced training buys you, and at 67 the gains can still be massive.
Three workouts to a block, three blocks to a phase. Finish one phase and you're in great shape. The secret is almost embarrassingly simple: track your top weight or reps on each exercise, and beat it by a little next time. Small enough to always be doable. Steady enough to change everything.
Every body has its own starting point, but these movements are the essentials — chosen by experienced coaches to build health, not test it. Safe, effective training that gives you the energy to do what you love.
David ran his first block easy — three workouts a week, low intensity, learning the movements. The warmups alone made his body feel better. Then, each week, a little more: five pounds on the pulldowns, a few extra crunches. Week four was a push — and totally doable.
New block, familiar patterns, half the reps. His body was ready for heavier — and handled it immediately. Four more weeks of the same quiet math: a small gain, every session.
Stiff and weak became nimble and strong. His weights had doubled on every exercise. Longer planks. His first pull-up without the band. Rotational power that showed up on the court and the course — and the list keeps going.
